Position Overview:

As a vital member of the team, you will participate in or lead proposals, studies, and technology development programs focusing on secure and quantum communication. Your role will involve preparing proposals for secure/quantum communication projects, analyzing security risks, and supporting security validation and certification activities. You will also manage work packages, define security system requirements, and ensure seamless integration with system design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in or lead proposals and subsequent studies/projects (Phases 0 / A / B) with a focus on secure and quantum communication.
  • Prepare and implement projects (Phases B / C / D / E) focused on secure/quantum communication.
  • Conduct security analyses, vulnerability assessments, and threat/risk analyses.
  • Provide support and advice for security validation according to ISO 27000 and certification under CC/ITGS of the BSI.
  • Analyze and define customer, mission, and system requirements.
  • Manage technical coordination and systems management.
  • Define study logic, work breakdown, and work packages.
  • Oversee the management of work packages and sub-projects.
  • Perform trade-offs of technical and programmatic solutions.
  • Specify systems, subsystems, and interface engineering.
  • Derive security system requirements specifications and architectures, and develop cybersecurity concepts.
  • Ensure smooth interaction with system design to mitigate cybersecurity threats, risks, and features.
  • Define budgets and oversee engineering efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or equivalent.
  • Experience in designing and implementing secure and quantum communication systems for ground and space.
  • Expertise in key management systems and cryptographic systems.
  • Familiarity with security risk assessments using EBIOS or ISO methods.
  • Experience leading small teams in both project management and technical roles is preferred.
  • Passionate about providing systematic approaches to verify the security properties of systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, with a proactive and self-managed working style.
