Nebula Space is working with a client that has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and collaborative Technical Machinist looking to further develop their career working on the manufacture and assembly of optical payloads. This is a full-time role that comes with a favourable salary of up to £35,000 p/a and a benefits package.

The successful candidate will work with a Senior Optical Payload assembly technician and will interact with opto-mechanical and optical system leads as well as the purchasing department.

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Manufacture high-precision mechanical components by milling, turning and grinding using manual machinery
  • Support the assembly of Opto-mechanical assemblies liaising with senior Optical Payload technicians
  • Manufacture other mechanical components
  • Ensure relevant standards and H&S regulations are adhered to

To apply, you will need HNC Mechanical experience, though experience in manufacturing and assembly of components will be considered. You will also require the following:

  • 5 years manual machining experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience working in machine shops
  • Understanding of best machining practices to achieve high precision and stability parts
