Position Overview:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client's RF Power business, contributing to key projects across various industries, including medical, aerospace, defence, and industrial applications. As a Programme Manager, you will manage strategic research and development, along with customer-funded projects, working alongside experienced engineers, technicians, and scientists. This role will expose you to projects such as radiotherapy machines, radar systems, satellite communications amplifiers, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers and technical staff to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Apply effective project management techniques, ensuring adherence to established processes.
  • Mentor junior team members, while demonstrating leadership and setting an example in target achievement.
  • Forge strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication of objectives and deliverables.
  • Schedule and manage projects using Microsoft Project, publishing updates to the MS Project Server system.
  • Coordinate Phase Gate Reviews and ensure they are completed on time.
  • Manage project scope and address risks, issues, and dependencies before escalation.
  • Interface with the Finance team to monitor budgets and analyse relevant data, such as ETCs and risk cost exposure.
  • Prepare project dashboards and report status to senior leadership monthly.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering teams to provide technical and commercial solutions to customers' needs.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience managing engineering projects from bid to production, with a focus on product delivery.
  • Proven ability to energise teams and meet critical timelines.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience using tools like Microsoft Project, MS Project Server, and SAP.
  • Clear and persuasive communication skills across all business levels.
  • Problem-solving expertise and sound judgement.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies like APM Body of Knowledge, PRINCE2, or PMP.
  • Eligibility for, or possession of, security clearance is required, as well as UK nationality.
