Position Overview:

This position involves working alongside Senior Test Engineers and the Test Manager at the Westcott space thruster test facilities. The role primarily supports designated ‘A’ persons during Hot Fire Testing programs, potentially across all main Firing Sites: J-Site, Large HATF, and Mini HATF.

Key Responsibilities:

  • React to issues with the engine or test site during tests.
  • Ensure correct feedline pressures, set up data acquisition and thermal imaging systems, and review firing data.
  • Assist with site prep, propellant handling, system checks, and mechanical and steam vacuum system operation.
  • Calibrate instruments and maintain steam boilers.
  • Prepare, install, and decontaminate customer flight engines.
  • Follow and prepare standard operating procedures, work instructions, and method statements.
  • Support process improvements and site modifications.
  • Work Environment/Conditions
  • Frequent use of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and chemically resistant clothing.
  • Handling of high-pressure gas systems and some electronics and high-voltage equipment.
  • Must pass periodic medical exams.
  • Manual handling, climbing ladders, bending, sitting, kneeling, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Working in high-noise environments and around various chemicals.
