About the Client:

Position Overview:

The Bid Manager will report to the Head of Business Development and Product Strategy, developing bids and securing funding, and supporting business development, proposal production, and capture management for institutional bids. This role offers potential time spent in other client branches and potential relocation and visa sponsorship opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate bids through the entire process, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams and external partners for multi-partner bids.
  • Conduct bid/no bid reviews, win-theme analysis, and support negotiations.
  • Control bid finances, coordinating partner inputs and ensuring compliance with bid PA/QA philosophy.
  • Support account management efforts with UKSA, ESA, and develop relationships with ESTEC and ESOC for IOS activities.
  • Track bid opportunities, maintain a database of future projects, and support prioritisation and strategy.
  • Assist in policy engagements, customer and competitor analyses, and financial estimations for ESA ministerial inputs.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of bid management experience in the space industry, preferably with UKSA or ESA bid lifecycle experience.
  • Excellent understanding of UKSA ecosystem, member state negotiations, and space program financials.
  • Strong commercial awareness and sales/marketing skills in bid production.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and strong in interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Passionate about space with knowledge of the space environment and debris.
  • Postgraduate degree in engineering.
  • Experience in technical domains like in-orbit servicing, active debris removal, and space situational awareness.
  • Experience with various bid sizes and delivering key volumes (technical, commercial, financial, etc.).
  • Understanding of project management in space programs and experience in satellite business development or sales.
