Position Overview:

Our client is looking for someone to define and agree on requirements for the Software Requirements Database (SRDB), architect the application, and ensure those requirements are met. In this role, you'll guide the software team in developing flight software solutions that support mission success and contribute to the company's broader goals of space safety and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the software development team to create mission-specific flight software solutions.
  • Define SRDB architecture and ensure all technical requirements are met.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring adherence to software development processes and industry standards.
  • Review software designs, maintaining quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of new software processes as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, preferably in space or aerospace.
  • Strong experience in the full software design lifecycle, from concept to operations.
  • Expertise in software development methodologies, data analysis, and database design.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding engineers, with strong leadership skills.
  • Familiar with communication protocols like CCSDS, CAN, and SpaceWire, and tools like Capella and Enterprise Architect.
  • Proficient in secure software development, Linux, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of cFE/cFS flight software, ground segment architectures, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with SysML/UML, MATLAB, and microcontroller assembler.
