Position Overview:

Our client seeks a proactive and passionate Project Manager to lead and motivate a team in delivering some of the world's most innovative space projects for a diverse customer base, including institutional, export, and defence sectors. This role involves managing projects from contract commencement through development, delivery of space and ground segments, launch preparation, in-orbit commissioning, and subsequent service delivery and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects or aspects, ensuring schedules, deliverables, and risk management are in place.
  • Lead day-to-day project activities, driving engineering delivery and keeping alignment with project plans.
  • Break down tasks, coordinate resources with engineering leaders, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct major project reviews, managing risks and securing customer payment milestones.
  • Monitor project finances, ensuring adherence to budget and supporting bids with programmatic solutions.
  • Experience managing projects in satellite or aerospace industries.
  • Familiarity with customer interfacing, contracts, and work package systems.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing and negotiating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Ability to create and maintain project plans and schedules within MS Project, translating complex concepts into manageable tasks.
  • Understanding of commercial terms and their implications on projects, with a good grasp of contracts and product assurance plans.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with risk management processes.
