Position Overview:
Our client seeks a proactive and passionate Project Manager to lead and motivate a team in delivering some of the world's most innovative space projects for a diverse customer base, including institutional, export, and defence sectors. This role involves managing projects from contract commencement through development, delivery of space and ground segments, launch preparation, in-orbit commissioning, and subsequent service delivery and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects or aspects, ensuring schedules, deliverables, and risk management are in place.
- Lead day-to-day project activities, driving engineering delivery and keeping alignment with project plans.
- Break down tasks, coordinate resources with engineering leaders, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct major project reviews, managing risks and securing customer payment milestones.
- Monitor project finances, ensuring adherence to budget and supporting bids with programmatic solutions.
- Experience managing projects in satellite or aerospace industries.
- Familiarity with customer interfacing, contracts, and work package systems.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate teams in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing and negotiating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Results-oriented with a proactive approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
- Ability to create and maintain project plans and schedules within MS Project, translating complex concepts into manageable tasks.
- Understanding of commercial terms and their implications on projects, with a good grasp of contracts and product assurance plans.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with risk management processes.
