As a Mission Systems Engineer, you will be essential in guiding other technical disciplines to bring together quality and pragmatic solutions for innovative projects, whilst working in a great team environment.

In this Mission Systems Engineer role, you can expect to:

  • Work as part of a team to perform mission and system design for missions ranging from LEO to GEO and beyond
  • Conduct system-level design of space and ground segments, including requirements analysis, sensitivity analysis, mission analysis and design trade-offs
  • Prepare presentation materials and reports to a high standard for all project phases
  • Conduct customer-facing meetings and presentations at all project stages
  • Work with the sales and engineering teams in support of bid/tender activities to generate technical solutions for a variety of customers

To apply for this systems engineering role, you will need experience as a technical lead on a space mission project and expertise in designing space missions starting from end-user requirements, ideally cradle to grave. You will also require experience designing and analysing space and ground segments to the sub-system level and should be a proven and experienced spacecraft Systems Engineer. Additional requirements include:

  • A degree or equivalent in engineering, physics or maths
  • Familiarity with downstream spacecraft level testing and system experience of commissioning (ideal)
  • Good knowledge of orbit analysis, constellation configurations, RF link analysis, system budgets, operations, ground segment, space environment and satellite mechanical and electrical architectures
  • Understanding a wide range of satellite applications such as Earth observation, communications, science, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of STK and Matlab or equivalent analysis tool
